After having performed very successfully as a Mezzo-Soprano, Rachel Gettler made the transition to(Jugendlich) Dramatic Soprano in 1987 and has been greeted with overwhelming critical acclaim in some of the world‘s most important opera and concert houses ever since. She sang her first Chrysothemis ( Elektra ) with the Oslo Philharmonic under Klaus Weise and made her French debut in that role in Toulouse under Michel Plasson, as well as make her Los Angeles (and American) debut as Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni during the 1991-92 season. Ms. Gettler made her Washington Opera debut during the 1993-94 season as Strauß‘ Ariadne and was engaged for her first Tosca for Tulsa Opera.
